Welcome Paige Byrne | NOVUS Athlete

Paige Halstead’s journey from UCLA national champion to Team USA softball athlete highlights resilience, leadership, and confidence built through consistency.

Paige Halstead (now Paige Byrne) built her career on resilience, consistency, and believing in herself. From UCLA national champion to Team USA athlete, she represents what it means to lead with confidence on and off the field. She continues to make an impact as a professional softball player, mentoring the next generation.

Her Journey at UCLA & Team USA

Not every path to success looks the same. Some athletes follow what is expected, while others carve their own path.

From her time as a catcher for the UCLA Bruins softball to competing on the international stage with Team USA softball, Paige has built her career on a quiet confidence that has defined the way she leads.

At UCLA, she was part of a 2019 national championship team that made its mark on one of the biggest stages in college softball. Behind the plate, she played a critical role in managing games and working with elite pitching talent, including catching National Player of the Year Rachel Garcia during the Women’s College World Series. It is a role that requires trust, communication, and composure—qualities that have become foundational to who she is as an athlete.

Competing at the Professional & International Level

Her career continued to evolve beyond the collegiate level, earning opportunities to represent the United States and compete against the best in the world. Through her experience with Team USA, she not only elevated her game but gained a broader perspective on what it means to compete at the highest level.

Paige has also competed professionally with Athletes Unlimited Softball, and continues to grow the game through coaching, mentorship, and athlete development.

Coaching, Mentorship & Life Beyond the Game

What stands out most about Paige is not just what she has accomplished, but how she approaches the game and the impact she is building beyond it.

After graduating from UCLA with a degree in political science, she has continued her education while dedicating time to coaching and training younger athletes. Her focus is not only on skill development, but on helping athletes grow into confident leaders. She understands firsthand that success in sports is about more than performance. It is about mindset, preparation, and the ability to stay grounded through both success and adversity.

She has also taken that perspective into new platforms, launching her Untitled Athlete Podcast to bring more visibility to athletes and their stories, while also developing her own signature catching line.

Her Mindset & Approach to Leadership

Paige’s journey has not been defined by being the loudest voice in the room. In fact, she was once told she was “too quiet” to lead behind the plate, and despite standing 6’ tall, that she didn’t fit the traditional mold of what an elite athlete should look like.

Instead of trying to change that, she leaned into it.

That decision became her edge.

Those early doubts became fuel—pushing her to build the confidence and self-belief that would carry her to the highest levels of the game.

Her story is a reminder that confidence is not given, it is earned. It is built over time through preparation, consistency, and the willingness to trust yourself before anyone else does. Leadership does not always look the same, and Paige is proof that you can lead in your own way and still compete at the highest level.

A Purpose-Driven Athlete

From high school All-American honors to becoming a national champion, representing Team USA, and continuing her career professionally, every step of her journey reflects a commitment to doing things the right way. Not for recognition, but for growth.

Paige represents what it means to Claim Your Crown—not because of titles alone, but because of how she shows up every day. Focused on the process. Committed to improvement. Willing to take her own path, even when it is not the expected one.

A mindset built not by avoiding doubt, but by learning how to rise above it.

CLAIM YOUR CROWN.
